Barbara Ann Smith

Barbara Ann Smith is a dedicated Family Law attorney with decades of legal experience serving individuals and families throughout Georgia. Before beginning her legal career, she worked as a registered nurse, serving in supervisory roles in neurosurgery and neurology at leading hospitals, providing her with a unique perspective and compassionate approach to client representation.

After earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1987, Barbara began her legal career as an Assistant Solicitor in the Richmond County Solicitor's Office. She later served as an Assistant District Attorney and Chief Assistant District Attorney for the Augusta Judicial Circuit, where she was recognized as Assistant District Attorney of the Year in 1996.

Since joining her daughter, Beth Ann Smith, in private practice in 1997, Barbara has concentrated exclusively on divorce and family law. She also serves as a Special Assistant Attorney General for Child Support Enforcement, helping families resolve complex domestic relations matters with skill and dedication.
